Worked on: branding, market research, product strategy, and visual design

Background: POiU is the world’s first country organized online, and an alternative currency marketplace for local goods and services. At the time of the project, Bitcoin was just a year in and in its infancy.

Challenge: Come up with a brand and visual language based on the logo and color that is a perfect nuanced fit for the unique space where POiU would resonate with the most users. No brand guide nor in-depth target market research has been done at the time of the project. The scope of the project was to design a click through prototype to go for a round of angel funding. 

Solution: After looking at several different industries I determined that POiU ought to reside in the intersection of market/shopping apps, social networking sites, trading classifieds, financial and online banking, and gaming sites. The feel of the app should be one of a consumer site, friendly but not too informal while communicating reliability and trustworthiness.
